Porsche 914

February 12th, 2012

With the aid of dear friend Gabby, I got my hands on a 1972 Porsche 914  almost complete, but in a about 500 bits. Luckily the owner gave me a Haynes manual with it, so in effect the instruction manual is there.

I am looking forward tearing into this project and hope to update the progress as I go. The 914 was never my favourite Porsche , however, as so few are left, I felt it was worth the effort to bring it back to its former glory.

It has slightly widened wheel arches that will give it a little aggressive look. The type 4 engine will be upgraded a little with maybe a race cam and new heads , other than that I will keep its stock.

Currently, the Club doesn’t have a 914 in it, so at least when we do photo shoots we can have the full range.

I am just completing my 1960 Porsche 356 rebuild and hope to post a rebuilt history on it in my next article .
